Shape of my heart is a ballad song composed and sung by the great singer, Sting. It is a very calm and peaceful song that very good for soothing our heart. The sound of the guitar and the saxophone somehow melt the heart combined with the voice of the singer. For  the music critic, this song is a reflection of sting idealism in music.

In this song, he describes the cards games in which there are hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades. He describes how the players play the game. He also describes the meaning of each card in shape of my heart by singing:

In general I myself cannot conclude what topic he wrote for this song. It is a bit complicated. However, there is love parts in the lyrics of this song. The love itself cannot be specified as love between men and women or the love here is the universal love. Love in this song is somehow cruel when he sings // when I told you that I love you/ I know you think there is something wrong/ the mask I wear is one//. Probably, it is a one-sided love. However, it is very shallow just to describe this song as a love song. I think there something more about this precious song. In fact, the love lyrics are interesting. It is very hurtful to love somebody but we cannot have the love back from someone we love. Yet, it is very normal even though the one we love thinks that there is something wrong with our love. The lyrics “I am not a man of too many faces/ the mask I wear is one” is also interesting. The mask that just one is probably the reflection of not being able to lie, hiding , nor not being able to be someone else. Shape of my heart is a complex song; love is just a case or a topic of this song.
